Angela Reitsma

Registered Midwife

Angela Reitsma is a Registered Midwife, an Instructor for the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University and Head of Midwifery Service at St. Joseph’s Healthcare. She has been working in Hamilton since 2007.

She was educated in midwifery at McMaster University following a degree in Health Studies from the University of Waterloo (2003). Her interest in midwifery research led her to complete a Master of Science from McMaster University in Clinical Epidemiology (2012).

Other professional activities that Angela has been involved in include membership on the St. Joseph’s Healthcare Neonatal Quality Assurance Committee, and teaching midwifery students both on clinical placements and in the classroom.

She has had the opportunity to present her clinical research at several conferences. Angela enjoys working with women and their families and getting to know them throughout their pregnancies and births. She has two children of her own, and in her spare time, she enjoys camping, cycling, and fixing up her house.
