A lifelong interest in pregnancy and birth led Sunny to a career in Midwifery. She graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University in 2019.
Prior to this, Sunny studied Women’s Studies at McMaster. Sunny sits on the Midwifery Quality of Care Committee at St. Joseph’s Hospital, has been an assessor for the Midwifery Education Program admission interviews and has been involved in various clinical and emergency skills workshops for the program. Sunny is also one of the coordinators of the annual Midwifery Client Reunion Picnic.
Sunny’s off-call time is spent rock climbing, doing yoga, bread making, cycling, drinking coffee, travelling and spending time with her dog, Gord. Sunny was a yoga teacher for many years and enjoys integrating her knowledge of the benefits of yoga, meditation and breathwork into the care she provides.
Sunny loves how unique and transformative the experience of pregnancy and birth is, and feels blessed to play a small role in this journey for so many families. She strives to provide holistic, inclusive, supportive and informative care with a goal of preserving the normalcy of pregnancy and birth.
